Chesapeake High School, home of the Cougars, is home to approximately 1,400 students and 83 teachers and is a part of Anne Arundel County Public Schools.  Opened in 1976, the school was renovated in 2005.  According to AACPS, the mission of the school is to “ promote a supportive and stimulating environment where student individuality is embraced and students are challenged to become self-directed problem solvers and independent thinkers in a rigorous academic environment in a constantly changing global society.”

Each high school in Anne Arundel County has a signature program that is intended to “be rich with opportunities to see learning come alive through purposeful engaging activities and planned chances for students to meet professionals working in industry, government, and organizations throughout the public and private sectors.” Special courses are offered to introduce students to the signature theme.

Chesapeake High School’s signature program is Information Management - a program designed to help “students be more effective in school and community by teaching them the principles and benefits of managing all of the information they encounter on a daily basis.” The program consists of exploration courses, guest speakers, field trips, clubs, internships, and other enrichment activities focused on workforce relevance and career opportunities in the fields of information management.
